I was trying to get you guys as close to victory as I could, and knowing that you had so little time, I skipped past more text than I should have. The spheres can bring back dungeoneers whom have died only from certain events/locations in the tomb. Unfortunately, Room I is not one of them. It didn't affect the outcome of the end of the game and the final score reflects accurately what you guys got, so I didn't mention it here.Rosshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08107736691449509380noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5337311709902143899.post-671804744378197172011-03-08T15:42:31.458-05:002011-03-08T15:42:31.458-05:00Dwarf just went back and saw that someone was plan...Dwarf just went back and saw that someone was planning on getting beer. I'm of the impression these are going to be released quarterly so I hope to be delving into them that often.

As noted above, I did die twice and the first time I was quite bummed until we knew we had wishes to use, at which point it was all I could do to keep from demanding the group resurrect me. A couple of the things that made this adventure fun were well thought out and interesting rooms/fights, great handouts, and fun but solvable puzzles/traps. I'm still a little piqued that we didn't figure out the cipher for the code in the swords room even though we did manage to solve it through other means. Great adventure and thanks again for running it so well.

The place is big enough that we didn't see all of it. We even avoided one room that it seemed like we were ill equipped to handle: The one with the winding downward staircase and pikes and flying monsters. At the time I felt like we would have better luck trying a different room. I didn't forget about the red golem gem + door thing, we thought that door led further in, but maybe it was just another treasure trove. I won't know unless I get resurrected and get to try this place again.

Also did smashing that sphere bring one of us back to life? If so then we only had two dead adventurers though I think with a few more minutes we'd all have been dead in that room and at only half strength.

p.s. He actually has no stats whatsoever, the failure condition of that phase of the Skill Challenge (and there are multiple phases) being that he kills 1d4 dungeoneers and teleports the survivors to Room K. I see what you're saying though in that it feels somewhat arbitrary. Although, on the other hand, it was my B that you were in there at all. The door is supposed to be inaccessable from the direction you were travelling. There's a lot of variance in how a group does just because a Dungeon Master is involved. We do what we can.

Also, he doens't really have a name in the module. I call him Igor because I think it's funny. I hope it catches on.Rosshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08107736691449509380noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5337311709902143899.post-25241629772425222172011-03-08T15:26:03.267-05:002011-03-08T15:26:03.267-05:00Oh right! I think Mage lost Streetwise to messing around with the unstable ritual circle in the iron golem room.

Good call on adding a handout for the Silver Chest riddle. After we failed he cast slay living without us ever going into initiative. To be fair we did stink it up on the skill challenge and more than likely even if we had gone into combat, he would've been able to get one spell off, but we definitely had one person going before him and if I had won initiative I had stunning and other controlling effects to put on him. Again it might be the case that he was way above our ability to kill, but I felt pretty confident about our chances in combats. It is also a bit weird that this guy is arguably, with that one spell, more dangerous than the Iron Lich himself. Not that I got to see a lot of his powers.Dwarfnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5337311709902143899.post-45518199489766890082011-03-08T15:20:04.598-05:002011-03-08T15:20:04.598-05:00Couple of minor corrections: I (Dwarf) actually lo...Couple of minor corrections: I (Dwarf) actually lost Dungeoneering to the infernal guest book after which we left it alone.

As for the 'sooth' riddle stumping us, I think we figured it out, but that is one thing that would've been a lot easier if it was on a handout just because sometimes it is easier for some folks (visual people) to parse riddles if they are written down.Dwarfnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5337311709902143899.post-46601384314156393582011-03-08T15:12:34.736-05:002011-03-08T15:12:34.736-05:00I may have neglected getting across that detail to...I may have neglected getting across that detail to you and Monk, who were there on time. We were missing a player who was delayed printing something for you (and recovering from a hangover). I was under the assumption that the clock wouldn't start until our 4th party member arrived. At 10:15am when you said, 'your time is ticking away' or something to that effect we immediately started playing.Dwarfnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5337311709902143899.post-87615017540145760882011-03-08T13:51:38.639-05:002011-03-08T13:51:38.639-05:00Monk was only out of the fighting for a short whil...Monk was only out of the fighting for a short while (the first time he died) and there was only a few minutes left to the game when we had the 75% fatality slay living, but everyone was very excited and happy to use their Wraith Cards to help out Mage when he braved the Iron Lich's Crypt alone. My only question is how the players of the dead PCs handled being out of the game. My biggest fear about running it is that if a player dies too quickly, they could be bored for 3+ hours.Sean_Mchttp://twitter.com/Sean_Mcnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5337311709902143899.post-26855687216498990972011-03-08T11:55:17.996-05:002011-03-08T11:55:17.996-05:00Thank YOU sir for helping to create such a masterp...Thank YOU sir for helping to create such a masterpiece.
